WAXING CARE
Before your wax
• If you’re really worried about the pain, then take 1 or 2 paracetamol about 30-40 minutes before your appointment. This can help reduce the surface discomfort.
• Make sure your hair is long enough to remove completely from the roots – it should be at least 0.5 centimetres. If you’ve shaved the area within the last few weeks it might take a couple of waxes to get your hair into a cycle of growth that allows the most effective wax finish.
Immediately after your wax
It’s normal for a little bit of redness/prickly heat type rash to appear after your wax. This should disappear after a few hours. Waxing removes the hair at the root and opens up hair follicles so it’s important that you keep the area clean and bacteria free. This means:
• No sunbathing for at least 12 hours (have your waxing done at least the day BEFORE you go on holiday), No swimming in chlorinated pools, spa baths or saunas for 24 hours
• Avoid applying any topical lotions or any perfumed products on the waxed area for at least 24 hours
3-10 Days after waxing
As you skin closes over the follicles, the next consideration is to ensure you prevent ingrown hairs. This is when new, often softer hair can get trapped under the skin.
• Don't wear tight clothing and use a soft brush or exfoliating glove to gently buff the area every 2-3 days – this is particularly important after about day 3 through to about the 10 day mark. It doesn’t need to be hard scrubbng, just a gentle exfoliation.
How long will your wax last?
You are likely to notice some new hair growth within 1-3 weeks due to the naturally staggered hair growth cycle. This part of regrowth will be sparse, about one-third of the hair normally present. Soon after the remaining hair will begin growing in.
Over time the density of hair in the waxed area may start to decrease as well.
SPRAY TAN BEFORE AND AFTER CARE
It is very important to take care of your skin/tan before and after your spray tan, for maximum results.
Preparing for a Sunless Tan
• Exfoliate the skin leading up to your spray tan and at least 12 hours before your session to smooth skin for even tanning results, particularly on hard skin areas such as knees, elbows, feet and hands.
• Hair removal should be done at least 24 hours before your tan.
• Do not apply oily moisturisers or products to the skin within 24 hours prior to your tan.
• Remove any make-up prior to your tanning application preferably at least 2 hours before.
After Your Sunless Application
• After your tanning application wear dark loose fitting clothing.
• Do not wear wool, nylon, or silk during or after your sunless application as the solution can cause staining to these materials
• Wait at least 8 hours after application before you shower. This will allow time for the self-tanning reaction to occur on the skin.
• Use an oil free shower gel on your hands to wash the residue off, until the water runs clear. Try not to have baths as soaking will remove you tan quicker.
• Do not apply moisturiser until after your first shower, for this could affect the immediate reaction of the sunless solution on the skin and cause streaking.
• Do not exercise until after your first shower.
• Moisturise daily to maintain your sunless tan. For best results use a water based moisturiser. Don’t use oil based moisturisers, they can cause blotchy areas and remove your tan quicker.
• Do not exfoliate unless your ready to remove any excess tan from your skin.
• If sun-bathing remember to wear a sunscreen. Sunless products do not contain sunscreen.
EYELASH EXTENSIONS
How to look after your LVL Lash Lift:
• Do not let your lashes come into contact with water for 24 hours
• Avoid using mascara on you lashes for 24 hours.
• Preferably use a water based mascara formulated especially for treated lashes.
• Do not curl your lashes using eyelash curlers.
• Do not have the treatment done again until your current lift has dropped.
• Do not wear a sleep mask.
• Comb your lashes daily post treatment to help with positioning and particularly within the first 48 hours to help them set into their newly lifted position as they dry out.
